Another Eventful Holy Week

Following Palm Sunday, Saint Benedict the African (SBA) started its Holy Week celebrations on Wednesday with the Tenebrae Service.

This Spy Wednesday event involved psalm prayers in the dark with the extinquishing of seven candles.

The following day SBA hosted scripture study in the morning and Mass of the Lord’s Supper for Holy Thursday.

For Good Friday, SBA held a rosary and stations of the cross, veneration of the cross, and reconciliation service.

The church remained open all Thursday for adoration, and Friday and Saturday for prayer. SBA held Easter Vigil Saturday night with a small reception afterwards.

Easter Sunday concluded Holy week with a church-packed Mass celebrating our Lord’s resurrection.
